A glance of what is happening at PYP 1! 

Unit of Inquiry: 

Humans are constantly changing.


PYP 1 Beta

Children were encouraged to measure themselves and their friends' height using connecting blocks.

They used their own baby clothes and toys for dramatic play.

They also were encouraged to eat a variety of food during 
lunch time and added a sticker on our rainbow chart every time they ate healthy food.

 

They used their senses and drank a naturally 
flavored water with mint leaves.

PYP 1 Sigma

Children brought baby items that they do 

not use now they are big.

We measured the donated shoes 

and ordered them by size.

The donated shoes then became art: 

"Do I fit in my art?"

We measured Mr O'Riley and noticed 

how much taller he is than all of us!

PYP 1 Omega

Sequencing pictures for their timelines and 
explaining their growth.

Role playing what they would like to 
be when they grow up.

Exploring the sense of sight.

Measuring themselves

  After tracing different size bodies students started 
colouring them for our Year Level Presentation.

We used our sense of taste by trying boldo tea.
